The myths of innovation

Hey - quick plug that Scott Berkun is going to be speaking at the next VanUE meeting (May 24th). You can find out more at www.vanue.com - spaces are going fast, so if you’re in the Vancouver area on the 24th and you want to attend, please RSVP ASAP (haha). It’s also the last session of the ‘06/’07 VanUE season, and chances are we’ll all be heading out afterwards, so consider extending your evening out to include a little hobnobbing!

So who is this Scott Berkun character? He’s an author, public speaker and consultant. He worked as a manager at Microsoft from 1994-2003, on projects including (v1-5) of Internet Explorer, Windows and MSN. He started his own consulting practice in 2003. He also wrote the best seller “The art of project management” (O’Reilly 2005) and teaches a graduate course in creative thinking at the University of Washington. Very busy guy.

I heard him speak at the UX Management conference in San Francisco in February of this year - Scott’s a great presenter, and his talk on The Myths of Innovation is very interesting, entertaining and of course, educational! His upcoming book on the subject should be hitting stores right about now too.
