While my website vs. application design project numbers a little more even (40% vs. 60%, respectively) I too have a renewed interest in websites, including e-commerce.

For a few years the less website projects I could be part of, the better; I was incredibly bored of content-heavy websites with little or no user interaction. I found much more joy in planning and designing apps. Fast forward to today and all of the websites I'm currently working on have a number of interactive elements or tie into some complex business layer, so the work is that much more interesting.

With clients and their customers also expecting more than just content on a website, it's once again fun to be a designer in this sector of the industry.
